Don’t Stop!

Fix these words of mine
in your HEARTs and minds;
tie them as symbols on your hands
and bind them on your foreheads.
Deuteronomy 11:18

Don’t stop at that verse. Take out your Bible, turn to Deuteronomy, Chapter 11 and read the entire passage. It says to put away idols–put away those things, those plans, those actions, that distract you from your faith walk. Put away those things you turn to for relief–the food, television, busyness, and, yes, even exercise–those things replacing God. Instead, love the Lord with all your heart and soul.

Think on that as you exercise today and look at your exercise time as conversation time.

Just one more incentive to keep pressing on. It’s probably tough right now. There are all sorts of excuses to stop. Even good excuses: you’re busy, it’s raining, it’s snowing (ten inches here yesterday!), you don’t feel well. I know and have used them all.

But, don’t let those excuses stop you. Tear down that stop sign and just keep moving. Soon it will become habit. Soon, you’ll cherish those quiet moments with God, and nothing will keep you from them.

So keep reading, keep moving … keep praying.
