Welcome!

If you’ve happened upon this site, chances are you love fiction as much as I do.

I love stories showing messy, broken lives … God’s light shines so brightly when we’re hurting. His redemption is amazingly clear.

And those messy stories are what I love to write. I’ve completed the first two books in a romance series, Where the Heart Is Series, that asks to Whom will you give your heart? The first novel in that series, Hearts at Risk, was a Contemporary Romance Finalist in the 2012 Genesis contest for unpublished authors! I’ve also completed a contemporary fiction series, the Brooks Family series, that follows a family in Minnesota as they learn the value of a Father’s love. The first novel in that series, Pieces of Granite, was a Women’s Fiction Semi-Finalist in the 2012 Genesis contest.

If you’d like to get a glimpse into my life, you can read my bio in About Me, or you can stop by my blog where I chat about Faith, Family, Fiction, Fun!, and also give you some Food for Thought.

If you’re an author, on the Writing Links page I’ve compiled a list of helpful sites. This page is a unending work in progress.

I’d love to hear from you! If you have a moment, click on over to the Contact Me page and send me a note.

Thank you for visiting Brenda Anderson Books!

  1. Love your photo and background. Look forward to reading your books. My friend Jill Urback is also a writer. She just won award for a short story, “Messy Blessings”. I think you can access it on my facebook page.

    • Thank you! A friend of mine (Gay Hartfiel–Portraits From the Heart) is a phenomenal photographer–she has that waterfall built into her back yard!

I look forward to the day when people will be able to read my books too. Hopefully soon …

I looked Jill up & then introduced myself. It’s always fun to meet fellow authors. :)

  2. Sonny tells me you made the newspaper feature article. I’d love to read it. Would you mind scanning and email me?

    • Thank you, Steph! I’ve been slowly working on it, making major changes just these past couple of weeks. I still have some small items to add or change, but am happy with it overall.

    • Thanks, Stacy. :)

My photographer–http://portraitsfromtheheart.net/–did a marvelous job. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for portraits–business photo or otherwise.

  3. Congratulations Brenda! I am so proud of you for following your dreams. Your dedication and hard work is obvious. Enjoy the fruits of your labor! I hope you have a wonderful time at the conference and that you come home a winner . . . even though you already are one, in my book.
