“Acknowledge and take to HEART this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.” Deuteronomy 4:39
Or as it says in The Way (The Living Bible I received in 1976): “This is your wonderful thought for the day: Jehovah is God both in heaven and down here upon the earth; and there is no God other than him!”
I love the joy I read in that version. It is a wonderful thought to know that He is Lord of all that goes on. That He walks with us through living nightmares and achieving dreams.
As I prepare to take that first step today, I’m reminded to take in my surroundings, to see all that He has touched, to smell the brisk air as winter swoops in, and feel the chill cooling my bones.
In that blessed communion with His creation, there will be no doubt that He is Lord over all.
