In Pieces of Granite, the hero’s [Jerry’s] greatest fear is that his wife [Debbie] will leave him. Like most fears, it’s brought on by experience as almost everyone he’s loved in his life has abandoned him. So, when I heard the song “STAY” by Tenth Avenue North, I knew this would be Jerry’s song. I love the passion in the lyrics and the music; it can’t help but evoke powerful feelings.
I also love what this song says about God’s love. No matter what, He stays with us. Through fires and battles and darkness, He is there. Always.
