As it's Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month, over the next few weeks I'll periodically share Christian fiction I've read over the years that features those with dementia and their caregivers. Personally, I've always learned better through story than non-fiction, and I'm certain I'm not alone. These stories are a great help in understanding what the patient and the caregiver go through when dealing with this disease. Most often, dementia isn't the main focus in a story, but it is in the undercurrent carrying the story along.ONE NINE, the award-winning romantic suspense novel by Sara Davison is my most recent read with dementia, and it was one I couldn't put down. Sara is known taking a unique angle in her stories, and this was no different.About this story:Detective Chase Washington knows Brooke Turner is guilty of murdering her best friend. What he can't comprehend is how she has managed to elude capture for six months. With Lenora Chambers’ blood calling out to him from the ground, Chase will stop at nothing to find Brooke Turner and bring her to justice. When he finally tracks her down, nothing is as black and white as Chase thought. Lost in the wild with no way to communicate with the outside world and another possible suspect on their trail, Chase and his prisoner have become the prey in a desperate quest to survive.Fans of riveting, edge-of-your-seat suspense with clean romance and spiritual truths will love this fast-paced offering. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, you can read this book for FREE! ... HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY, Sara Davison !!!This beauty, THE HAPPINESS OF BLUEBIRDS, arrived on my Kindle early this morning, and I'll add the paperback to my Mosaic collection by Friday. If life is full and busy and fitting shorter pieces into your day might work better than a novel, consider picking up this collection of six novellas of various genres - a retelling of the Jonah story, a rom-com, a dual-timeline, family dramas, and light suspense.
